Now is the perfect time to set intentions and resolutions for the upcoming year. Resolutions for the New Year should be positive and doable goals to help achieve a better quality of life! What would you like to do more of 2022? We have a few healthy resolution recommendations we liked to share with you below:

  1. Add more nutrient-dense food into your diet Make a resolution to upgrade your diet. As we age, we need less calories but we do need more nutrient-dense foods like fruits and vegetables. Consider starting slowly by adding an extra serving each day. Switch up your normal breakfast for a fresh smoothie or swap out your lunch with a super-charged salad.
  2. Add variety to your physical activity Doing the same physical activity everyday can be boring. Try changing it up, by trying something new like tai-chi or yoga!
  3. Think positively Studies show that positive thinking has a impact on our immune system! Make sure to take a break from the news every now and then and focus on the positive things in your life.
  4. Stimulate your mind Keeping your brain in shape is just as important for seniors as physical activities. Crossword puzzles, learning a new language, or listening to music can all help improve your brain health and mood!
  5. Laugh more We’ve all heard the phrase “laughter is the best medicine” before, but it turns out there is actually proof this is true! According to Harvard Health laughter strengthens your immune system, lifts mood, eases pain and lowers stress.

Even small daily habits can have a huge impact on our quality of life. Share your New Year’s resolutions with us! Happy New Year!
